Bulk Policy Updates
Overview of Datazone Policy Bulk Updates¶
The Bulk Policy Updates feature enables users to efficiently update or remove multiple Data Zone policies simultaneously. It streamlines policy management by supporting bulk actions, reducing manual effort, and promoting consistency across policies.
Supported Policy Types for Bulk Updates¶
- Disallowed Tags
- Workflow
- Expunge
Fields Allowed for Updates¶
- Alert Level: (Optional) Specifies the alert level. Supported values are LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH.
- Tags: Supports Add, Remove, and Replace actions.
- Policy Status: Used to enable or disable the policy.
Follow the steps below to update or remove Data Zone policies in bulk:
Bulk Update Policies¶
Step 1: Navigate to Data Zones and Get Started¶
- In the Privacera portal, navigate to Compliance > Data Zones.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the Data Zones header in the left-hand panel.
- From the dropdown menu, select Bulk Policy Updates.
Step 2: Choose a Policy Type¶
- Below the search bar, select the policy type you want to update.
- A list of Data Zones containing the selected policy type appears, each with a checkbox for selection.
Step 3: Select Data Zones¶
- Use the checkboxes to select the Data Zones you want to update.
- Click the BULK POLICY UPDATE button on the right-hand side to proceed.
Step 4: Configure Update Options¶
- Select Update Policies as the action.
- Configure the following options as needed:
- Tag Bulk Action: Choose from Add, Remove, or Replace. Leave blank if no update is needed.
- Tags: Required if Tag Bulk Action is selected. Select the tags to update.
- Alert Level: Choose the alert level (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH). Leave blank if no update is needed.
- Enable Policy Enforcement: Enable or disable policy enforcement.
- Click Proceed to review your changes.
Step 5: Review Changes¶
- A Review Bulk Update screen will display change log for each policy:
- New tags will be highlighted in green.
- Removed tags will be highlighted in red.
- Policies with no changes will show "No Change."
- Policies eligible for updates will have a checkbox. Policies with no changes will not have a checkbox, resulting in partial updates.
Step 6: Apply Changes¶
- Click PROCEED TO UPDATE to apply all changes.
- If some policies are not selected or have no changes, click PROCEED TO PARTIAL UPDATE instead.
- The policies will be updated shortly. Once the update is complete, a success message will appear.
Bulk Remove Policies¶
Step 1: Navigate to Data Zones and Get Started¶
- In the Privacera portal, navigate to Compliance > Data Zones.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the Data Zones header in the left-hand panel.
- From the dropdown menu, select Bulk Policy Updates.
Step 2: Choose a Policy Type¶
- Below the search bar, select the policy type you want to update.
- A list of Data Zones containing the selected policy type appears, each with a checkbox for selection.
Step 3: Select Data Zones¶
- Use the checkboxes to select the Data Zones you want to update.
- Click the BULK POLICY UPDATE button on the right-hand side to proceed.
Step 4: Configure Update Options¶
- Select Remove Policies as the action.
- Click Proceed, and a confirmation message will be displayed.
- Click DELETE to confirm the removal of policies.
- The policies will be removed shortly. Once the removal is complete, a success message will appear.
