Disable a User

This guide provides instructions on how to disable a user account for both Privacera Self-Managed/Data Plane and PrivaceraCloud environments. Disabling a user prevents them from logging in to the Privacera environment.

Disable a Standard User

  1. Navigate to Settings > User Management.
  2. Locate the user you want to disable from the user list.
  3. Click the Edit button for the selected user.
  4. In the popup window, scroll down to the Status toggle.
  5. Click the toggle to turn the status Off (Disabled).
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Disable the System Administrator User (padmin)

To disable the system administrator user padmin (assigned the ROLE_SYS_ADMIN role), follow the same steps as above. However, consider the following important requirements:

Administrative Privilege Required

Only a user with the ROLE_SYS_ADMIN role can disable the padmin user. Ensure you are logged in as a system administrator.

Service Dependency Impact Before Disabling padmin

Privacera Discovery

The Discovery module currently uses the padmin user for Service Discovery. Before disabling or replacing this user, refer to the migration guide to update configurations and switch to the privacera_service_discovery user.

To disable a user in PrivaceraCloud, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > User Management.
  2. Locate the user you want to disable from the user list.
  3. Click the Edit button for the selected user.
  4. In the popup window, scroll down to the Enabled toggle.
  5. Click the toggle to turn the status Off (Disabled).
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.
