Lake Formation Connector – Retry and Backoff Improvements¶

Updated the retry and backoff configuration to prevent long wait times caused by concurrent modification and throttling errors (previously up to 17.5 seconds). Added new metrics to improve observability and monitoring of retry behavior.

Lake Formation Connector – Access Type Exclusions¶

Added support for excluding specific permissions from being synced to AWS Lake Formation for selected resource types (for example, database or table). This allows you to prevent permissions such as ALTER or DROP from being pushed to Lake Formation.

Unity Catalog Connector – Added Implicit SELECT for IRC DSP on Fresh RocksDB Init¶

Added support to grant implicit SELECT permission to IRC DSP during full sync when the connector initializes with a fresh RocksDB.

Uptake Latest Ranger and Upgrade Trino Plugin JDK from 17 to 21¶

The Trino plugin now runs on JDK 21. Due to this change, compatibility or behavioral differences may occur when using the following versions:

• Open-source Trino — versions earlier than 436
• Starburst Trino — versions earlier than 438
• EMR — versions earlier than 7.2.0

We recommend upgrading to the latest supported versions of these platforms for full compatibility. For more information, refer to the supported runtime version documentation:

Resolved Metadata Visibility Issues in Starburst Cluster Explorer UI¶

Fixed an issue where metadata operations (such as schema and table listings) in the Starburst Cluster Explorer UI did not return expected results for Hive and Iceberg catalogs.

REST API for Updating policy resources¶

Added a new REST API to update the policy resources for a specified policy ID without modifying other policy attributes.

Fixed a parsing error encountered during the Role update API execution.

Snowflake Diagnostics Client: Validation Support for Azure Event Hub and Kafka¶

Added diagnostic test cases in the Snowflake diagnostics client to validate Azure Event Hub and Kafka configurations and ensure they are configured correctly.
