Installing Privacera Products and Services#

Before you proceed with the installation, ensure that all the service configurations are displayed with the indicator in the multi-level stepper.

If any service configuration has the indicator, then go to the service configuration and rectify any visible errors in the property.

Note

  • For a minimum installation of Privacera, the configurations in the Platform and Installation Type, and Default Services should be error-free. Any error in the service configuration of Privacera Default Services will not allow you to proceed with the installation.

  • Any errors in the remaining Privacera services (Access Manager, Discovery, Encryption/Masking) will allow you to proceed with the installation.

  • Once you've confirmed all the services are correctly configured, click Install & Start Services.

    Note

    After you start the install, you will be unable to modify any configuration. If you wish to edit any configuration, abort the installation process and then re-try again.

  • Validation and Install

    In this step, a sequence of validations, installation and checks are executed. At each stage, dynamic logs are generated. To view them, click .

    A) Prevalidation

    Checks if a connection can be established between a Privacera service and an external service such as an external RDS database, S3, or ADLS. Validations make sure that the network connectivity and credentials specified in properties are working and have proper access to work with required external services.

    You can do the following buttons:

    • SKIP: Click this button to stop the prevalidation process, and proceed to the next step in the sequence.

    • RETRY - Click this button to run the prevalidation process again, if the process fails.

    • ABORT - Click this button to stop the prevalidation process and exit from it.

    B) Installation

    Starts the installation of all the configured Privacera services.

    You can do the following buttons:

    • RETRY - Click this button to run the install process again, if the process fails.

    • ABORT - Click this button to stop the install process and exit from it.

    C) Service Check

    Checks if all the configured Privacera services are up and running.

    You can do the following buttons:

    • SKIP: Click this button to stop the service check process, and proceed to the next step in the sequence.

    • RETRY - Click this button to run the service check process again, if the process fails.

    • ABORT - Click this button to stop the service check process and exit from it.

    D) Security Check

    Checks where the Privacera passwords should be stored (JCEKS or vault), checks for default passwords in the configuration files, and validates the SSL certificate installed on the services.

    You can do the following buttons:

    • SKIP: Click this button to stop the security check process, and proceed to the next step in the sequence.

    • RETRY - Click this button to run the security check process again, if the process fails.

    • ABORT - Click this button to stop the security check process and exit from it.

    E) Functional Check

    Performs basic sanity checks on the services installed by carrying out some actions. This validates the integrity of the installed services whether they are working properly.

    You can do the following buttons:

    • SKIP: Click this button to stop the functional check process, and proceed to the next step in the sequence.

    • RETRY - Click this button to run the functional check process again, if the process fails.

    • Finish - Click this button to complete the installation.

  • Once the installation sequence gets completed, the PM UI Dashboard is displayed.
